By now, you probably have heard about the $2.3 trillion spending bill. After months of arbitrary regulations that have put many Americans out of work and businesses in jeopardy, Congress felt it fitting to give each American $600, while also sending taxpayer money to places like Nicaragua and the Kennedy Center.

The $600 is half of the previous COVID relief check most Americans received. And the relatively-small amount is laughable, especially when viewed under the light of the realities of normal American life. In short, it told Americans that the ruling elite is so far removed from regular American life, that they may actually think $600 is a lot of money. This perception wasn’t lost on the internet, as meme-creators gave us all more than enough to laugh at.

The mood towards the spending bill changes from laughable to anger when we look into who else is benefiting from American taxpayer’s cash. As Americans are trying to keep their lives, businesses, families, and jobs intact, our tone-deaf Congress saw it fitting to send hundreds of millions of dollars to foreign countries, special interests, and lobbyists.

In a blistering video-response, Trump took to Twitter and called the 5,500-page bill a “disgrace,” highlighting how the COVID relief bill does not actually focus on relief. Congress has obviously used the COVID pandemic to secure funding for things other than the American people.

“Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists, and special interests, while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it.” Donald Trump

He is demanding Congress amend the bill to increase the poultry $600 check to a $2,000 check (or $4,000 per married couple). He also said Congress will need to remove “wasteful” spending from the bill before he approves it.

The American people have endured a lot this year, at the hands of the ruling, expert-class. The bill showed each of us that Congressional lawmakers have little regard for the actual plight of regular Americans, choosing other countries and pet-projects over caring for their own people.

Trump did the right thing by hammering down on Congress and demanding the bill be amended.

It’s another example of Trump fighting the swamp and going to bat for the American people.
