When Trump-advisor Dr. Scott Atlas tweeted, “The only way this stops is if people rise up. You get what you accept,” he wasn’t the only one who felt Michigan’s COVID restrictions went too far. In Michigan, five state representatives and two state senators support holding hearings that could result in the impeachment of the state’s Democrat governor.

Dr. Atlas’s tweet that drew national attention to the Governor was referring to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s harsh restrictions, which include forbidding in-home gathers of more than two families. The state’s lockdown will begin tomorrow 11/18/20 and end 12/9/20.

Matt Maddock, a Republican State Representative, has been very vocal about his support for holding these hearings saying, “The list of violations is long and the call is overdue.” You can read his entire Facebook post here.

For impeachment of the Governor to occur, there needs to be a simple majority in the House and two-thirds majority in the Senate.
