The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) has confirmed that several foreign countries interfered in the United States’ 2020 election. In a statement that DNI John Ratcliffe gave to CBS News, he claimed that Russia, China, and Iran were all involved in foreign election interference in November. Ratcliffe went on to say that he is anticipating a public report on his agencies’ findings to release sometime in January.
These claims coincide with the letter Sidney Powell filed with the Supreme Court on December 13th containing information about recently acquired evidence against Dominion Voting Systems. The letter clarified sworn affidavits received from two forensic experts alleging that international interference took place.
This all comes days after Dominion Voting Systems CEO John Poulos confirmed that some voting machines produced by his company can connect to the internet. With all of the recent foreign-based hacks into a few of the most ‘secure’ US government agencies, it is especially plausible that foreign governments could have hacked into our voting machines which have been called by nearly all Cyber Security experts ‘extremely vulnerable.’
The deadline set by President Trump’s executive order for the Intelligence Community to submit their classified assessment on foreign interference is December 18th. However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has confirmed that they will not be able to meet that deadline stating that “agencies have not finished coordinating on the product.”
Hopefully, this report will release by January 6th, which is the date that Congress will be convening to certify (or object) the votes of the Electoral College. If this report reflects the statement made by DNI Ratcliffe, it may give House Representatives and Senators the push they need to refute the Electoral College’s vote, giving President Trump a clear path to victory.
