A Texas-based oil company was sent shopping for a different Christmas gift this month after North Face refused to give them jackets. Innovex Downhole Solutions, an oil and gas company, wanted to give their employees something nice and useful this year.

North Face has allegedly refused to fulfill the order because of Innovex’s industry. Adam Anderson, Innovex CEO, said, “They told us we didn’t meet their brand standards. We were separately informed that what that really meant is was that we were an oil and gas company.”

While Northface has not responded to this issue, Mr. Anderson did release a four-page letter that further clarifies his perspective on the matter.

“Low-cost, reliable energy is critical to enable humans to flourish,” wrote Anderson. “Oil and natural gas are two main primary resources humanity can use to create low-cost and reliable energy. The work of my company and our industry more broadly enables humans to have a quality of life and life expectancy that were unfathomable only a century ago.”

Innovex were provided Christmas gifts from another vendor.
