Dispatching trucks from a Michigan plant, Pfizer is releasing 500,000 doses of the newly-approved COVID-19 vaccine. These doses are expected to be delivered to medical facilities around the country, in preparation for administering vaccines this coming week. It is being reported that 145 medical sites will receive the vaccine on Monday and another 425 on Tuesday. The remaining 66 sites are scheduled to receive the doses on Wednesday.

First in line to get the new vaccine are current COVID-19 patients, residents in nursing homes and a select group of others deemed priority.

The vaccine is being hailed as one of the fastest-developed vaccine in history. It is projected Pfizer will deploy 25 million doses this year.
