A lawsuit filed late Wednesday on behalf of party chairwoman Kelli Ward claims insufficient safeguards were in place to verify signatures on mail-in ballots came from the registered voters whose envelopes were submitted.
The lawsuit also states that legally required observers were unable to see the process from where they were placed. And that the process for dealing with damaged ballots resulted in inaccurate recording.
A court order has been requested to compare the signatures on the ballot envelopes to signatures on file. Ward also wants an inspection ordered to compare damaged ballots with the duplicates created by election workers to allow them to be scanned.
Biden leads Trump by only 10,457 votes in Arizona. It’s possible that a judge could decide to void the election, allowing the Republican-controlled Arizona Legislature to make the final decision.
